Jacobs Landing
INTRODUCTION TO JACOBS LANDING
Jacobs Landing is an off-grid homesteading initiative envisioned by the House of Judah International Fellowship Church
Our Mission:
We are seeking donations to purchase 20+ acres of land, which will become the foundation for this transformative project. At Jacobs Landing, we aim to create an environment that fosters resilience, sustainability, and spiritual growth.
The Vision:
Jacobs Landing will serve as a model for living in balance with the earth, providing opportunities for our church to engage in farming, animal husbandry, and cooperative living. The land will be designed to support various living quarters, crop cultivation, and livestock housing, all while maintaining a deep respect for the natural ecosystem.
Community Features:
1. Living Quarters: We envision comfortable, eco-friendly housing designed to accommodate families and individuals. Each dwelling will be constructed using sustainable materials and techniques, ensuring minimal environmental impact.
2. Crops and Gardens: The land will be cultivated to grow a variety of crops, including vegetables, fruits, and herbs. We will employ permaculture practices to enhance soil health, conserve water, and promote biodiversity, ensuring a continuous supply of fresh food for our community.
3. Livestock: Jacobs Landing will house a small number of livestock, such as chickens, goats, and cows. These animals will not only provide food sources (eggs, milk, and meat) but also contribute to the fertility of the land through natural manure.
4. Shared Resources: The community will feature shared resources such as tool libraries, communal kitchens, and gathering spaces for Sabbath Services and Holyday celebrations. This collaborative approach will encourage skill-sharing and strengthen church family ties.
5. Education and Empowerment: Jacobs Landing will offer educational programs and workshops on sustainable living practices, farming gardening, animal care, and spiritual growth. We believe in empowering our members with the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in an off-grid lifestyle.
